This regular new free Thursday night has become one of Brixton Buzz’s favourite ways to start a pre-weekend night on the town, and the Newschool gang are back tonight with three more acts, including local favourite Ese.
Playing a solo set is Brixton’s fast-rising Ese (from Ese & The Vooduu People) bringing her razor-tight brand of rock and soul to the Dogstar.
Also performing tonight is British-Chinese singer Lui Peng, who moved to the UK at the tender age of nine years old.
Peng paints a dreamy landscape, connecting deeply with fans across a broad spectrum, with CLASH magazine calling his last release No Rush a “new pop wonder”.
After touring in Asia this summer through China, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia, Lui returns to London to present his long awaited EP “Feathers”, out on November 23rd.
Rounding up the bill is A J Humphries, a London-based singer/songwriter who cites James Bay, Paolo Nutini, Sigrid, Elton John and Tom Odell as his influences.
