This regular new free Thursday night in Brixton continues to be a great way to kickstart the weekend, with the Newschool events showcasing up and coming acts every week.
Last night, three acts took to the stage, with dutchkid opening up the evening around 8.30pm with an acoustic set:
dutchkid are an independent, modern, in-house creative collective formed in 2017. They write, direct and produce all their own music, visuals and live show. Their unique dynamic and style is the result of the 6 being from different creative disciplines, nationalities, and backgrounds.

Last on was Suzi Island:
Suzi Island, from Brighton, are front-man Hugh Reilly-Smith, bassist Matt Carter & keys player Carlie Randall Smith.
They released their first single on March the 25th after an exclusive play by BBC introducing. The song produced by Pete Robertson of The Vaccines. Off to an amazing start they went on to feature in the Hypem top 20 and was picked up by Spotify’s Fresh Finds and will appear on the Pro Evo soundtrack.

Newschool takes place on Thursdays in the upstairs ballroom at the Dogstar, 389 Coldharbour Lane, SW9 8LQ.
