Halloween falls on a Friday this year so you know there’s going to be a bumper selection of monster parties to get your fangs stuck in to! Here’s a selection of the most howlin’ Halloween parties going on around town this weekend…
FRIDAY 31st DECEMBER…
The Brown Derby pub teams up with Camberwell’s Seabass Cycles for a Halloween bike ride through Brixton
One of our favourite Lambeth locals outside of Brixton, The Brown Derby pub is teaming up with Camberwell’s Seabass Cycles for a Halloween bike ride and after ride party back at the pub.
The ride will leave from Seabass Cycles (62 Camberwell Church Stret) at 8pm on Friday 31st October and raise hell along the Lambeth highways and through Brixton until they reach The Brown Derby pub at 336 Kennington Park Road, SE11 4PP (near Oval Underground station).
Offline Club and Brixton Buzz free Halloween party night at the Prince Albert
Another monster Offline party night in Brixton town and we’ve got another fabuous free night lined up for the Prince Albert, Brixton’s friendliest boozer, located on buzzing Coldharbour Lane.
On the decks we’ll have DJ Editor and Ms Jizzy Rascal throwing down a party mix of ska, reggae, 50s, 60s, indie, punk, skiffle, Tom, Kylie, Beyonce, Mrs Mills, Black Sabbath and more – with a few Halloween surprises thrown in the mix. Plus there will be free shots for the best fancy dress costumes on the night!
Great Big Kiss Halloween Special at Canterbury Arms
The Great Big Kiss returns to Brixton for another Halloween night of unearthly delights. They’ll be playing the usual mixture of northern soul, Motown, 60s girl groups and rock’n’roll, with some graveyard smashes thrown in for good measure. If you’d like to dress up, you’re more than welcome. If you’d rather come in your usual stylish attire, that’s fine too. Come one, come all! Guest DJ: Lucienne Cole (Crawdaddy)
All Hallows Eve Dogstar Halloween Party
This year’s eve of all hallows is going to be a howlin’ wolf mad night at the Dogstar with a Pumpkin carving competition during the day with alcoholic prizes! Scary stilt walkers, horrific bar staff, horror movies on all night, the monster mash, you f****ng name it! Anyone who makes the effort and comes in costume will be rewarded with FREE ENTRY, just mind the flames on the way in!
Cafe Cairo’s Horror Hotel Halloween Party
Werewolves, vampires, mummies, Zombies and other horrible creatures; come to a place where being monstrously atrocious is of the norm. There will dead bell boys, a gruesome photo booth and Cornelius a looping necromancer; folking with the dead. There will be music from the The Discount Orchestra and your most Devilish Disc Jockey Mr Len Hovis plus Barbarella’s Bang Bang.
Burn The Jukebox Hallowe’en Spooktacular #2 at The Windmill
Last year, the Burn The Jukebox crew had a big birthday party with loads of bands a few days after Halloween and it was smashing. So they thought… let’s do it again… but on Halloween itself. Look forward to monster live sets from Cosines, The Drink, Slum Of Legs, Doctor Zhivago and more TBA plus fancy dress, DJs and dancing.
Effra Social’s House Of Horrors
Dare to enter Effra Social’s House of Horrors to experience live action terror that nightmares are made of! Featuring live music from The Crumps (The Cramps tribute) and The Shag Guns (The Sex Pistols tribute). The Artful Badger presents a Pychedelic Kidnap Encounter With The Other Side. Zombie Disco Party at Electric Social
Its time to dust your Halloween costumes off and head down for another road block Halloween event at Electric Social. Expect the best in devilish disco all night in the surroundings of a decorated haunted mansion with a spooky display of special effects. Mwah Ha Ha!
Halloween at the Duke Of Deadinburgh
It’s the scariest night of the year, so get all dolled up and stagger down to The Duke of Deadinburgh (yeah!) for a boogie and a beer. There’s a free shot for anyone in fancy dress, DJs till 2am, a raffle and a cryptic gravestones game for the chance to win a bottle of prosecco at midnight!
Halloween – 1970s Horror Film and Music Invasion Upstairs at The Ritzy
It’s time to celebrate, in truly horrific style, the decade that brought you the first slashers and chainsaw wielders, possessed little children, ballet dancer-killing witches, flesh-eating zombies and mountain people, blood-ridden proms… and of course Goblin and The Cramps. There will be headlining live music from Oh!Gunquit, with ‘DJave of the Living Dead’ on the decks, visuals from the Ritzy Slashers and many more horrific happenings.
Vagabondz X Vibes: Halloween Fancy Dress Ball at Jamm
Vagabondz x Vibes are bringing you a special Halloween treat with a frightening array of top drawer talent from the house, jungle, dnb and grime scenes. As it’s Halloween fancy dress is encouraged, no Twilight nonsense so get original, grimosaurus? Tory-raver? It’s cheaper entry for all zombies and monsters so get out your fake blood and get ready for the stomp as DJ Die headline proceedings.
Myopia Twisted Toys Halloween Party at Club 414
Myopia’s sell-out Halloween all nighter returns for its fifth year at Club 414 with the queen of bounce Lisa Pin-Up headlining the main room. The fancy dress theme is Twisted Toys and there will be horror movies, lasers, face paints and all the usual 414 raucous raviness to keep the dancefloor buzzin ’til dawn!

The Rocky Horror Kaff Show at Kaff
It’s just a jump to your left…and then then a step to your right! This Halloween Kaff will be getting their legs out with Dr Frank-n-furter, bending their knees in tight like Riff Raff and doing a pelvic thrust with Magenta, as they bring their own fiendish creation to life with a cabaret extravaganza of Rocky Horror Show proportions. They’ll have fancy dress, fancy drinks and a bit of cabaret to tickle your fancy! They’ll also be giving away fancy prizes too for best dressed and games.
‘Up On The Roof’ After Dark Halloween Special with Norman Jay at Prince Of Wales
The King of Good Times, Mr Norman Jay returns to Brixton on Saturday 1st November to headline an ‘Up On The Roof’ After Dark Halloween Special at the Prince Of Wales. Joining Norman on the decks is his original (then pirate radio) Kiss FM campadre, Colin Dale. To call Colin Dale “legendary” is no over-estimation, he’s been one of London’s most cutting edge DJs for over twenty years and still continues to surprise and marvel. Sounds like a humdinging Halloween party to us!
Stranger Than Paradise Halloween Party at Hootananny
Peddlers of wild cabaret theatrics, Stranger Than Paradise swing in to Hootananny for their annual Halloween hoedown. Expect demented acoustic folk funk rock from Brixton Buzz favourite David Goo, Nursery rhymes sung with the fear of the devil from Slapper, a headline set of Gypsy punk lunatics with a taste for the macabre from Buffos Wake, gothic belly dancers and stacks more to get your Saturday night shaken and stirred!
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November: Mexican Day Of The Dead Futuro at various Brixton venues across Halloween weekend
Anybody hoping to spice up their Halloween celebrations this year will be glad to hear that a futuristic Mexican Day of the Dead is coming to town on Saturday 1st November with screenings of vintage Mexican sci fi films and other ‘El día de los muertos’ events planned across Brixton over the weekend. Prepare for an inter-galactic sci fi extravaganza, as Day of the Dead goes futuro with screenings of classic Mexican sci fi films, children’s futuristic costume-making and Day of the dead face-painting, live music acts, DJs, dance, immersive theatre performances, authentic Mexican food and plenty of tequila in a cross-arts weekend that comes with the promise of being out of this world!
SUNDAY 2ND NOVEMBER…
Brixton Booty Car Boot Halloween Fare
This fantastic event is organised by Brixton Booty Car Boot Sale to help raise funds for the renovation of the Brixton Sports and Social Club home of The Brixton Soup Kitchen. Have fun learning African drumming, listen to local up and coming talent, get your face painted or have a henna tatoo. We will also be joined by our favourite Queen Bee from Channel 4s Gogglebox and hopefully sandy will join her too.
Come on down and support efforts to help get the Social club included on the map for Brixton. Entrance is free but any donations are appreciated.
