Brixton Buzz is teaming up with Brixton’s long running Offline Club to take over Brixton Dogstar Ballroom on Saturday, 18th August – and you can hop on the guest list for free!
Described as being ‘like someone’s friendly house party, opened up for the general public,’ the Offline Club nights are now one of Brixton’s longest running parties, and are renown for their fun and eclectic music policy.
Here’s what the Lambeth Weekender said about the night;
Brixton’s famous Offline Club throws down another swaggering, sweaty, fun packed mix of fist-in-the air party bangers. Now one of the biggest nights in this legendary Brixton venue, expect your nether regions to vacillate wildly to a sonic feast of dance monsters, cheeky pop thumpers, drum’n’bass floorshakers and body-quivering anthems, with Dolly and Cyndi guaranteed.
Running from 11pm – 3am, there’ll be well-oiled Offline DJs serving up a spontaneous, fast moving, genre-leaping mix of dance bangers all night in the Ballroom on the first floor.
Themed as ‘Britpop to Beyonce, Bowie to Basement Jaxx‘, the DJs quickly get bored playing the same kind of thing all night, so expect a whistle stop tour of gusset-ripping party hits from the likes of:
Jay-Z, Kylie, MGMT, Grandmaster Flash, The Cure, The Smiths, Kelis, Missy Elliott, Prince, Michael Jackson, Sean Paul, David Bowie, Missy Elliot, Destiny’s Child, Rihanna, Iggy Pop, Drake, Blur, Pixies, Nelly, Le Tigre, Bonnie Tyler, Bob Marley, Killers, Specials, Outkast, Chemical Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Clash, System Of A Down, White Stripes, Kate Nash, Toots & The Maytals, Soul, Ska, Motown, Indie, Rock and more!
On the decks will be DJs Jedi Freeman, DJ Editor, Bobby Bauhaus and more getting the floor moving like a crack-infused Zebedee on poppers – and if that doesn’t convince you to come down and party, check out photos of a recent show or read some of the press reviews:
